Carbon steels
What kind of carbon steels does AUSA work with?
AUSA works different grades of carbon steels. The properties, applications, chemical composition, equivalent standards, heat treatments, profiles and dimensions vary depending on the grade chosen.
Carbon steels contain a carbon percentage of between 0,10-0,60 % with tensile strengths of 350-800 N/mm2.
Carbon steels with carbon percentages up to 0,30 % are very ductile and have low hardenability. With higher percentages, carbon steels admit quenching.
The wear resistance is low and are weldable depending on the carbon content.
Their most common applications are for the manufacturing of machines, screws, agricultural tools, bolts, chains and other similar objects.
AUSA works with renowned steel mills, thus ensuring the highest quality of the products offered.
